The NRG ZB emergency lighting system is a state-of-the-art, wirelessly connected emergency lighting system

NRG ZB is a wireless, self contained emergency lighting testing system designed for maximum safety, reliability, and operational efficiency. Leveraging a robust mesh network, the system provides intelligent, self-healing communication between all exit sign and emergency luminaires. This ensures continuous monitoring, automatic testing, and instant status reporting, making it the ideal solution for modern commercial, industrial, and public buildings where compliance and safety are paramount.

The system can be easily expanded from a few devices to hundreds within a single, cohesive network without complex re-wiring.

A user-friendly software interface provides a real-time overview of the entire system, displaying the status of every single emergency fitting (OK, Fault, Battery Status, Lamp Status).

Fully automates mandatory monthly functional tests and annual duration tests in compliance with BS EN 50172 standards. Test results and logs are generated automatically, eliminating manual record-keeping.

The NRG ZB emergency lighting system is designed and manufactured in full compliance with the European Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU. This compliance is verified and attested by the CE and UKCA Marking.

Core benefits

Designed to meet the highest standards of safety, performance and reliability, in full alignment with the requirements of the Radio Equipment Directive (RED)

Article 3(1)(a) - Protection of Health & Safety

The system operates at safe RF exposure levels for humans (SAR limits) and is electrically safe according to relevant harmonised standards.

Article 3(1)(b) - Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)

The equipment is engineered to have a high level of immunity to external interference and does not generate harmful electromagnetic disturbance that could affect other equipment. It complies with EMC standards including EN 301 489-1 and EN 301 489-3.

Article 3(2) - Efficient Use of Radio Spectrum

The radio equipment effectively uses the radio spectrum to avoid harmful interference. It complies with the essential requirements of harmonized standards such as EN 300 328 for Wideband Transmission systems, ensuring robust and interference-resistant operation in the 2.4 GHz band.

Features

The NRG ZB emergency lighting system merges critical life safety technology with the power of IoT. It offers unparalleled reliability, reduces long-term operational costs, and provides peace of mind through its full transparency and adherence to the strictest European safety and radio equipment regulations, including the RED Directive 2014/53/EU.

Wireless

System luminaires

NRG ZB wireless emergency luminaires

NRG ZB luminaires are wireless emergency lighting fittings based on Zigbee communication. They don’t require hardwired data lines, making them ideal for retrofit projects or locations where cabling is restricted or costly to install.

Each luminaire communicates with a central controller wirelessly, offering the same level of individual monitoring and testing as wired systems. They are fully compliant and support automatic function and duration tests, fault alerts and system logs.

Best suited for

Buildings where installation needs to be fast, flexible or non-invasive, such as listed buildings, occupied offices or retrofit scenarios.
